DC Events Official Inclement Weather/Delay Policy

In the event of inclement weather (e.g. a big snow storm etc.) we have now implemented the following policy for all of our trips. Please familiarize yourself with all of the points below and if you have any questions or concerns, please ensure you contact us immediately before you sign up OR attend a trip. If concerns or questions are not brought forth before a trip, we will assume you have read, understood and are in agreement with all of the terms below.

  • In the event there is inclement weather on the day of our departure, please check our dcevents website regularly for updates on our exact departure time. For example, if a snow storm is scheduled for Thursday night, there is a possibility for the safety of all of our guests that we will delay departure time until the next morning (e.g. Friday morning). We will make every attempt to run our trips as scheduled, but in the event of inclement weather we will post a decision no later than 6:00pm on the Thursday of our departure date.
  • For Vermont trips (Jay Peak, Smugglers Notch) please note that lift tickets come "complimentary" with accommodations. That is why we do not offer single day or 2-day ski options for our Vermont trips. Therefore in the event of inclement weather and we do not arrive in time for us to enjoy the entire ski day on Friday, no compensation will be given. For our Tremblant trip, if your bus arrives late on Friday, 3-day lift ticket holders will be given the option to downgrade to 2-days of skiing only but this must be arranged immediately upon arrival and you must not use the lift ticket on Friday. No compensation will be given to 2-day or 1-day lift ticket holders for Tremblant.
  • Please note that the Bus Drivers for all of our trips are NOT employees of DC Events. We work with a broker whose job is to secure the necessary amount of buses for each trip. We make every attempt possible to make them follow an itinerary that we provide before the trip, but ultimately it is the driver who has the final say of where and when he needs to stop. On the Sunday of our trip, it is also the Bus Driver's final decision as to whether or not he feels he can safely drive home in inclement weather. Every attempt will be made on our part to go home safely and stay with our schedule, but in the end the driver may decide it is unsafe to leave the resort or may travel as far as he feels safe and may decide to stop the bus for the night (i.e. in Montreal).
  • Important: In the event we are unable to safely make the return trip to Toronto on Sunday night, it is your financial responsibility to pay for the accommodations on Sunday (and additional night if necessary). Every attempt will be made to make arrangements for you at the best rate possible.
  • In the event of inclement weather on the Sunday night and you decide to arrange your own transportation home due to whatever personal reason, no compensation will be offered on your bus ride home as the seat is already paid for.
  • Other incidentals that might cause delays in getting to the resort. ie. mechanical difficulties with the bus. See point #2 above regarding the options you will have.
